Less than one week time
If you are on a tight timeline and you want to make and receive your creation as fast as possible, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered.
Here are a number of tips for you to make your deadline in time and surprise your loved one(s).
So, if you want to receive your creation within one week, go for a stapled magazine or a glued magazine.

If you go for a stapled magazine, your timeline could look like this:

  • Saturday: Start working on your creation.
  • Thursday before 12:00 PM at the latest: Order your creation
  • Friday: Your order will be shipped
  • Saturday: Your order is delivered.
  • NB: PostNL Track&Trace packages within the Netherlands have an 98% change of being delivered the next day (with exception of Sunday). Of course bear in mind different delivery times if you are shipping outside of The Netherlands.

If you go for a glued magazine, your timeline could look like this:

  • Saturday: Start working on your creation.
  • Wednesday before 12:00 PM at the latest: Order your creation
  • Friday: Your order will be shipped
  • Saturday: Your order is delivered.
  • NB: PostNL Track&Trace packages within the Netherlands have an 98% change of being delivered the next day (with exception of Sunday). Of course bear in mind different delivery times if you are shipping outside of The Netherlands.

To make your deadline, we have six suggestions so you can finish your creation as swiftly as possible:

  1. Use templates. Jilster offers you a variety of templates you can easily place on your pages and edit to your liking. This is the fastest way for you to fill out your magazine. You can edit the text boxes and use your own pictures.
  2. Invite friends & family to collaborate. When working with co-makers, be as clear as possible while sending your invitation. Make sure you communicate the deadline, and provide them with clear instructions on what to do.
  3. Use the Jilster app. If you have photos on your phone that you would like to use in your creation, you can easily upload them with our app. You can download the app in the AppStore and Google Play.
  4. Approve pages. Once a page is done, approve the page immediately so you don’t have to do it later.
  5. Order before 12:00 PM. When you order before 12:00 on a business day, your creation will be taken into production that same day. If you order later then 12:00, your creation will be taken into production the next business day.
  6. Pick up your creation. Did you know it is possible to pick up your creation in Almere instead of getting it shipped? This way you are certain you will have your creation in your hands in time, as you don’t have to wait for the postal service to deliver it to your home.

Our Jilster supporters are eager to help you out, and can assist you with any questions that you having throughout the process of making your own magazine. Feel free to get in touch with them via e-mail, phone or WhatsApp.

You can contact our support team if you have any questions about making your creation.

2+ weeks time
When you have more time to make your creation, you can definitely choose a more luxurious option: the glued magazine or a hardcover book.

If you go for a glued magazine, your timeline could look like this:

Week 1
Start working on your magazine. You can choose a Jilster template of your liking and put it on all the pages. If you want, you can invite co-makers. To save time later, you can first place templates and then invite others, so they will only have to fill out the template with their own texts and photos. When you will invite co-makers, we advice you to make the instruction message as clear as possible and give a hard deadline for when they should have filled out their page. Plan in one day where you can check the entire magazine and can approve all the pages. Bare in mind that it is possible that not everyone you invite will actually fill out their page, so you might have to change up some things in the end.

Week 2 (or 3, 4, 5 …)

  • Tuesday before 12:00 PM: Place your order if you want to receive your creation before the weekend.
  • Thursday: Your order will be shipped.
  • Friday: Your order will be at your home.
  • PostNL Track&Trace packages within the Netherlands have an 98% change of being delivered the next day (with exception of Sunday). Of course bear in mind different delivery times if you are shipping outside of The Netherlands.

If you go for a hardcover book, your timeline could look like this:

  • Friday before 12:00 PM: Place your order now if you want to receive your order before the weekend of week 3.

Week 3

  • Thursday: Your order will be shipped.
  • Friday: Your order will be at your home.
  • PostNL Track&Trace packages within the Netherlands have an 98% change of being delivered the next day (with exception of Sunday). Of course bear in mind different delivery times if you are shipping outside of The Netherlands.

Tips before you get started

Before you get started, keep these things in mind:

  • Browser. Work on Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. On these browsers Jilster works best.
  • Margin and cutting lines. Pay attention to the margin and cutting lines on the pages. All important text and images should be within the margin lines (the inner dotted line). This way you make sure everything you want to be printed is actually printed. Everything outside of the cutting line will be cut off.
  • Page filling image. When you want a picture or background to fill the entire page, make sure you draw the image across the cutting line. This way you will avoid white lines at the boarders of your page after printing and cutting.
  • Save pages. Save your work after you made changes so you don’t lose any of you work. You can find the save button on the top right of the page.
